Macalester’s setting, halfway between the downtowns of St. Paul and Minneapolis, provides great access to internships.

In my four years at Mac, I interned with several organizations, including:

  • Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis
Community Affairs program, researched home ownership patterns on American Indian reservations in Minnesota and surrounding states
Led to a co-authored paper with my supervisor that was published in the Bank's Community Dividend
  • Grassroots Solutions
a firm in Minneapolis that provides consulting services in the areas of organizing and advocacy, worked on climate change and sustainable food issues
  • The Advocates for Human Rights
worked with asylum seekers and immigrants in deportation proceedings

Since graduation, I have gone on to the master’s program in human rights at the London School of Economics, and my internships were instrumental in this plan for my future.
