Professor Aanonsen’s research focuses on spinal mechanisms by which
chronic pain is transmitted and induced. She involves students in
every aspect of her research and accompanies them to meetings of the
Society of Neuroscience where they present their work. She chairs
the Biology Department and the Health Professions Advisory Committee,
and most recently was awarded the 2003 Teaching Award for Macalester.
In her spare time she loves to garden and play with her two Westies,
Cassie and Katie.
