The Academic Programs Office works closely with faculty and staff to carrry out the academic mission of the college. We support faculty advisors, coordinate Macalester's First-Year Course Program, assist students with major decision-making, manage the Academic Standing Process, work with students in academic difficulty, facilitate Macalester’s Honors Program, coordinate national scholarship nominations, and oversee funds for student academic travel and outside speakers.
The Academic Programs Office also assists the Provost with many administrative aspects of the college, including oversight of departmental budgets, faculty hiring and reviews, faculty travel and research funding, faculty office space, external department reviews, monitoring course enrollments and assessment.
