Students are awarded competitive stipends to work with a faculty member during 10 weeks in the summer. The stipends are provided from a variety of sources (external faculty grants and internal Macalester endowments). The Electronic Student Research Application process and timetable are described in detail on the Science and Research Office (SRO) website. Students interested in research are encouraged begin inquiry in the fall for the following summer.
