BPA - Controversy Study
Conclusion
It is clear that the plastics industry fought to protect their product
knowing full well that it carried potential danger to public health.
One can not say for certain that they had full knowledge of the
potential adverse effects, but it is clear that they attempted, and for
years succeeded, at stifling any investigation. After evidence had been
presented against BPA the plastics industry attempted to squelch the
debate before it ever began by questioning the scientific validity of
their opponents. As time progressed, the evidence supporting the claim
that BPA had significant effects on human health became too great and
the FDA was forced to step in. At this point official studies are
underway, but it is likely only a matter of time before BPA faces some
sort of regulation.
