GEOG 112: Introduction to Urban Studies
This course provides you with an introduction to a number of approaches to studying cities. It also functions to introduce you to the local urban setting here in the Twin Cities. The course focuses on building your analytical skills and foundational knowledge of how cities work, which are necessary for advanced study of cities. Course readings focus on American cities. Lectures, case studies and assignments direct students’ attention to the urban experience in St. Paul. This particular focus will help you gain a grounded understanding of general knowledge that is fundamental to the interdisciplinary study of cities.
