Fernanda is a Brazilian native who teaches Portuguese and Spanish. She has been teaching language courses for more than fifteen years and she is thrilled to be part of the Hispanic and Latin American Studies Department at Macalester.
Fernanda is currently working on her dissertation, which addresses the production of contemporary Afro-Brazilian women writers, at the University of Minnesota. Her academic interests include Afro-Brazilian literature, Brazilian Literature and culture, studies in Africa and the African Diaspora, women’s writing, race and gender issues, and contemporary Latin America Literature and culture.
