Announcing the 2010-11 Macalester College Choral Concert Season

Macalester Choirs Fall Choral Concert: Bridges...

The Macalester Concert Choir and the newly formed Highland Camerata will perform a wide variety of music based on the themes of Love, Loss, and Light. A highlight of the evening will be the premiere of a multi-movement work by composer and pianist Professor Randall Bauer called "The Bridge of Love."

 

SONGS OF THE EARTH: Music of China

The Macalester Concert Choir and friends will unite for the second bi-annual Songs of the Earth Series.  This year Ethnomusicologist Chuen Fung-Wong and Conductor Eugene Rogers collaborate to create an evening of eclectic and inspiring vocal, dance and instrumental performances from China.  

 

The Music of Maurice Duruflé and James MacMillan
Friday, April 29, 2010, 7:30 p.m.
House of Hope Presbyterian Church***

The Macalester Combined Choirs unite with the Festival Chorale (faculty, staff and community members) to sing Maurice Duruflé's Requiem Mass, Op. 9. In addition, selections from James MacMillan's "Strathclyde Motets" will be performed by the Concert Choir.
