Sung Kyu Kim is Professor of Physics at Macalester.  He is the author of Physics: The Fabric of Reality (Macmillan, 1975) and co-author of Modern Physics for Scientists and Engineers (Macmillan, 1978).  He is a contributor to Macmillan Encyclopedia of Physics (Simon and Schuster Macmillan, 1996).  His current teaching assignment includes "Contemporary Concepts of Physics", which enrolls about 200 students per year, and a lecture series, "Cosmos: Perspectives and Reflections".  He also runs the Macalester Summer Physics Institute for pre-medical students, which typically draws about 60 students from some 20 colleges and universities.  He received the 1993 Burlington Northern Excellence in Teaching award.
