Wynn Fricke is a choreographer, dancer and somatic movement educator. She has served on the faculties of the University of Minnesota, St. Olaf College, Winona State University and as choreographer-in-residence for Minnesota Dance Theater. For nine years, she danced with Zenon Dance Company and in 1997 became founder and artistic director of Borrowed Bones Dance Theater. Her choreography has been produced nationally and internationally. Wynn is co-founder of Common Ground Meditation Center is a certified instructor in Integral Hatha Yoga. She brings her experience in somatics and meditation to her courses at Macalester, particularly Experiential Anatomy and the Mind-Body Connection.

HONORS

In 2012, Wynn was honored with a Minnesota Sage Award for outstanding choreography for Wine Dark Sea, commissioned by Zenon Dance Company and created in collaboration with composer Peter O’Gorman. She was also awarded a grant from the American Composers Forum to create Twine with composer and percussionist Marc Anderson. Twine will premier at the 2013 Macalester Fall Dance Concert. She has received numerous grants, including six McKnight Artist Fellowships for Choreographers, a Metropolitan Regional Arts Council award, and two New York State-funded grants from Arts International and Trust for Mutual Understanding.
