April 10-11 and 17-18

Transportation from Terminal #1 (Lindbergh) to campus will be available on Thursday from 12 noon until 4:30 pm.  Please check in at the Macalester Welcome Booth on the Baggage Claim level of the Terminal #1 near Door #5.

3:00 p.m. Registration
Check in at the Ruth Stricker Dayton Campus Center (2nd floor atrium). Luggage may be stored in the Admissions Office, located on the ground level of Weyerhaeuser Hall. The Admissions Office will be open until 8:00 p.m.

4:00 p.m. Welcome
Weyerhaeuser Memorial Chapel
Hear from Lorne Robinson (Dean of Admissions), a faculty member and a current Macalester student.

5:00 p.m. Dinner with Macalester Student Hosts

Alexander G. Hill Ballroom, Kagin Commons
Meet your host and enjoy an informal buffet.

5:00 p.m. Parent Reception
Lowe Dayton Commons, Janet Wallace Fine Arts Complex
Parents are invited to meet Macalester faculty and staff members over heavy hors d'oeuvres

(Transportation to St. Paul hotels will be provided for parents after the reception.)

7:00-8:30 p.m. Ice Cream Van Run to Grand Ole Creamery for Students
Vans will leave from the Admissions Office.

Transportation from the campus to the airport will be available Friday afternoon (1-6 p.m.).  Details will be available in your welcome packet.

Parents are also welcome to sample the food in the campus dining hall. Cafe Mac is open for breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

Introduction to academic life at Mac

The schedule for the remaining portion of the program will be divided into five sessions beginning at 9:40 a.m., 10:50 a.m., Noon, 1:10 p.m. and 2:20 p.m.

You may choose from campus tours, class visits, informational sessions with academic departments and different offices on campus, or drop in to a professor's open office hours and get your questions answered. A specific schedule of these options will be available at Sampler registration.

10:50-11:50 a.m. Club Sports, Intramurals, and Recreation Information Session
Leonard Center, Hall of Fame Room
Directors of recreation, club and intramural sports will be on hand to share information about opportunities to participate in club sports, intramurals and recreational activities.

11 a.m.-noon Athletic Department Open Office Hour

If you are interested in playing competitive varsity athletics at Macalester, you may connect with individual coaches during this hour. Please contact coaches directly to reserve a meeting time. 11-1:30 p.m. Lunch

This is your opportunity to ask questions about the services and resources that are available to the Macalester community.

1-6 p.m. Shuttle Service to the Airport
Please sign up in the Admissions Office for a specific shuttle.

2:20 p.m. Chat with Mac Students
Engage in a Q&A session with a panel of current students. There will be separate panels for students (Campus Center) and parents (Weyerhaeuser Hall Board Room).

3:30-4:30 p.m. Refreshments
Weyerhaeuser Hall Board Room and Lounge
This is a great meeting place for students and parents at the end of the program. Stop by to mingle with other prospective students and parents. Admissions staff members will be on hand for any last questions.
