in it for the long haul

Not only did the Novocaine taste horrible, but the dentist was spontaneous in its application, randomly stabbing me in the gums like a child with a plastic gun. When I was completely numb, I thought the worst part was over... you know, the part I could feel. Of course, I was wrong. After some painless scraping came the drill, which was not only loud but painful. I cried, kicked, and writhed like a toddler for that first tooth, incapable of comprehending I had three more to go. I felt even more immature when the helping nurse let out, "It's going to be okay." That was the same thing the nurses told me during my "fleeing sprees" as a child before mandatory shots.

"It's going to be okay," my roommate explains in reference to the final weeks of the semester. Although it is a stretch to say the weeks are as physically painful as my wisdom teeth removal this summer, they're challenging nonetheless. However, my final weeks schedule is surprisingly refreshing, with two final projects, an "oral exit interview" for Spanish, and one actual final exam. So it's all spaced out well so I'm not scrambling that final week to be prepared for every exam.

But I'm sure you're wondering what we both (being not completely sure of our major path anymore) signed up for next semester, right? Well, Nguyen lies about his "music" and "psychology" pursuits and is actually just going back to taking all science and math classes next semester... and I believed him! Goodness! I, however, intend to explore a bit with Indian Philosophies and Java Programming, among other classes. So with this excitement to think about over winter break, we are all quite ready for the semester to be over. So as the final weeks of chaos ensue, we'll take a break from blogging. So with tidings of great joy, we bid you adieu and wish you good luck and God speed in all your pursuits, whether you're truthful about them or not.
