At the beginning of the fall semester, all Macalester student organizations put up stalls during the Block Party. Adelante!
Dedicated to meeting the needs and addressing the concerns of Latinos. The primary goal of Adelante! is for its members to educate themselves and the campus about the various cultures and issues that surround Latinos. Adelante! meets its goals by programming and planning special events, such as the Latino Week in Spring. In addition to providing a support network for the Latino students, Adelante! has built strong ties with the Latino community in the Twin Cities. Strives to increase awareness of African issues and cultures on campus through social and educational programs. visit their site
Amnesty International (AI)
Non-partisan organization which actively advocates and supports human rights through exchanges of information, meetings, and organized letter-writing. AI is affiliated with an international organization specifically aimed at stopping torture.
Asian Student Alliance (ASA)
Brings together students of diverse Asian backgrounds in offering support to its members through group discussion, workshops, and cultural programming which allows them to explore the rich history of Asian peoples. ASA also offers cultural programming to educate the surrounding community throughout the year and offers a spectacular celebration of Asian culture during Asian Week in the spring.
Black Liberation Affairs Council (BLAC)
A strong, historic organization on campus that continues to grow each year. The members of BLAC are predominantly African American, African and Caribbean, but welcome input from anyone interested in learning more about issues surrounding the Diaspora. BLAC offers its members support through its communal Afro-centric perspectives and efforts. The organization also seeks to educate and share with the surrounding community through cultural programming, multi-campus and campus-wide parties, and various other celebrations and events which commemorate the great contributions of African, Caribbean, and all other peoples in the Diaspora.
Caribbean Students Association (CSA)
The aims and functions of this group are to strengthen and to explore the Caribbean presence on the Macalester campus and to share this knowledge and identity with others of other cultural backgrounds, hence, reinforcing the Macalester ideal of multiculturalism. visit their site
Macalester Association for Sub-continental Ethnic and Cultural Awareness (MASECA)
A group for students from all over the Asian subcontinent to get together, have fun, and share their culture with anyone interested.
Mac Christian Fellowship (MCF)
A group whose purpose is to help Christians grow in their faith and to be witnesses of God's love.
Mac Jewish Organization (MJO)
Through educational and social programming for the entire community, MJO encourages an understanding and pride in the Jewish heritage and provides a focus of support for religious and cultural needs of Jewish members.
Mac Model United Nations (MacMUN)
MacMUN is a student-run organization designed to promote international understanding, awareness of international issues, and peaceful conflict resolution in the context of the United Nations. These goals are achieved through education, research, debate, community outreach, and diplomatic simulations and conferences which involve parliamentary procedures, developing/improving speaking skills, and hands-on experience with diplomatic negotiations and conflict resolutions.

Macalester International Organization (MIO)
The representative body for Macalester's international student population. All registered international students are automatically members of MIO but U.S. students are highly encouraged to become involved in the organization as well. visit their site
Maction
Maction is a student-run organization that provides one-time service opportunities and a forum for discussing service, promoting both as an integral part of a Macalester education. Through service projects, Maction strives to introduce students to the diverse and abundant service opportunities available in the Twin Cities as well as to create ties between the community, students, faculty and staff. Through dinner discussions, Maction provides opportunities for students to converse about service-related topics and learn from each other's experiences.
Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG)
A non-profit, statewide organization that works to achieve social and environmental justice.
Muslim Student Association (MSA)
A meeting point for Muslims to discuss issues of theology share concerns, and educate non-Muslims on the misconceptions of Islam. Friday prayer meetings and Islamic holidays are celebrated in Macalester's Mosque in the Chapel basement.
The Outing Club
An outdoor organization open to all student whose primary goal is to offer inexpensive opportunities to get outdoors (i.e. hiking, camping, etc) of the Macalester community. visit their site
