Every year, we express our Macalester values by honoring exemplary alumni for their contibutions to the greater good.
There are five categories of alumni awards. View the full description and criteria for each of our each category online here. Please use the appropriate form below to nominate a Macalester alumnus for an alumni award.
The Catharine Lealtad ’15 Service to Society Award honors alumni of color who have distinguished themselves in service to community. This award was established in memory of Catharine Lealtad ’15, the first African American graduate of Macalester.

The Charles J. Turck Global Citizen Award recognizes alumni who have advanced the cause of the internationalist spirit and lived up to the exhortation, "To be a worthy son or daughter of Macalester, you must listen to your hopes and not your fears."

The Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, achievement, and active involvement in their local community.

The Young Alumni Award recognizes an alum who has graduated within the past 15 years and demonstrates outstanding involvement and achievement in their post-graduate education, community contributions, career advancement, and their service to Macalester.
Young Alumni Award
The Alumni Service Award, also known as the "Macbassador of the Year," recognizes alumni for significant service and consistent loyalty to the college. Recipients of this award exemplify the spirit of volunteerism. Nominations for this award are typically made by Macalester staff and faculty.
