Panelist Bios - Dan Schned ’05
Board of Directors Member for Dog Grounds in Minneapolis
After graduating from Macalester in 2005, Dan pursued an internship at the City of Minneapolis in Council Member Lisa Goodman's office coordinating an urban animal management project, which led to him creating a 501(c)3. The organization Dog Grounds, incorporated in October 2006, has partnered with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, local real estate developers, neighborhood associations and hundreds of dog owners to build two new off-leash play areas for dogs in high-density residential areas of downtown — Loring and North Loop — and has plans for two more in Downtown East and Elliot Park. Dan is now a volunteer member of the Board of Directors and a licensed real estate salesperson working on a sales team at Realty Executives Top Producers in downtown Minneapolis. He is currently applying to graduate schools and hopes to attend one next fall.
