Panelist Bios - Katie Eukel ’04
Communications Associate at Transit for Livable Communities (St. Paul, Minn.)
Katie Eukel graduated from Macalester with a degree in Communications and Media Studies. While a student, she worked with PBS’ The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, which stations a correspondent in the Twin Cities, helping research and produce local, national, and international news pieces. Right after college, Katie started interning and then working with a philanthropic consulting group, providing strategic communications counsel to national foundations and nonprofit grantees. Katie was hired as the first communications associate at Transit for Livable Communities (TLC), a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, in June 2006. TLC provides research and advocacy with a goal of helping more people understand and participate in regional transportation decisions affecting the Twin Cities area. In her role, Katie manages strategic communications and media activities for the organization.
In the past year, Katie moved out of the "Macalester Mile"... into downtown St. Paul. Her roommate is fellow Macalester graduate, Erin Howlett ’04.
