Panelist Bios - Quyen Tran Witthuhn ’95
Proprietor and Owner of Pacifier Store in Minneapolis
Quyen Tran graduated from Macalester in 1995 with majors in Anthropology and Latin American Studies, and a minor in Spanish. She obtained a master's degree in international development studies from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She returned to the Twin Cities and worked in Donor Relations at the Saint Paul Foundation for two years, before starting a job as volunteer coordinator for Global Volunteers, a nonprofit organization offering short-term service programs in 20-plus countries abroad. She eventually became program director for Africa, Asia and Latin America programs. After four years, an itch to become her own boss kicked in. She left, and after a short "research" stint at Crate and Barrel, started Pacifier, an urban baby boutique catering to the hip and cool under-4-years-old set. The three-and-a-half-year-old business has one “brick and mortar” store in northeast Minneapolis and an online store at PacifierOnline.com.
Quyen is married to Jon Witthuhn ’95, who also works full-time at Pacifier. They have two shiba inu dogs and one cat.
