Sounds of Blackness CD Release Celebration

The Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness, founded and directed by Gary Hines ’74, releases its new CD, “Kings & Queens: Message Music from the Movement” at a special community celebration. The album addresses the connection between self-denigration and domestic violence with a goal of helping to end self-denigration, domestic violence against women and to resurrect the self-respect African American young people. The CD is exclusively available at Best Buy and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the album will help raise funds for The Martin Luther King Memorial.
