Immigration: Global, Local and Personal Perspectives

Go beyond the headlines and talk shows to explore the many facets of immigration in this two-and-a-half-day on-campus course. Macalester professors and others from many disciplines will share their expertise in immigration issues. In addition, we’ll explore Twin Cities neighborhoods shaped by recent immigrant communities including Hmong, Somali, Latino, and Tibetan. All registration options include course materials and provided meals. $250 or $300, on campus option; $150, off-campus option; and optional $50-per-day post-program extension.

Macalester Night at the Twins Game
4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 2
Meet in the Halsey Hall Room, Metrodome, Minneapolis

Enjoy a night at a Twins ballgame with the Macalester community. Enjoy baseball snacks before the game in the Halsey Hall Room and meet Star Tribune baseball blogger Howard Sinker '78. Then watch the Twins take on the Cleveland Indians from seats along the third-base line, just beyond third base, in section 136, rows 18-22. All alumni, faculty, staff, current students and their guests are welcome. Registration deadline is Tuesday, July 15. All ordered tickets will be sent by mail. $30 per person.
