Lesly Sanocki '90 may have moved thousands of miles away from 1600 Grand, but her allegiance to Macalester has never wavered. Sanocki—who lives in suburban Portland, Oregon—is serving her second term on the Alumni Board (having served as its secretary for her first term), is leader of the college's alumni chapter in Portland, and is an active alumni admissions volunteer.

She also has worked on several of her class's Reunion committees, serves as an Annual Fund class agent, and is a long-time member of both the Summit and Grand giving societies.

Sanocki deserves partial credit for bringing Daymond Dean '91 back to Macalester, where he now serves as associate director of Alumni Relations. Soon after the two classmates reconnected at the Step Forward campaign kickoff event in October 2008, Sanocki nominated Dean to the Alumni Board. He joined the board later that fall, and in January 2011 became part of the Alumni Relations staff.

Dean still recalls that night at the campaign kickoff, as he and Sanocki stood in the Leonard Center Field House "letting the festive atmosphere wash over us while we listened to music, socialized with students, and ate incredible foods from around the world." He adds, “Throughout the night, Lesly talked about how her Macalester experiences had shaped her life and how fortunate she was to be an alumnus of our great college.”
