Trash removal at Toes Beach, Playa del Rey, through the Nothin'-but-Sand Cleanup organized by Heal the Bay (see website).
Activity Description:
This special Earth Month Nothin’ But Sand Cleanup is a hands-on opportunities for Macalester alumni to join with other community volunteers in an effort to directly improve the condition of this Santa Monica Bay beach. Macalester volunteers will remove trash at Toes Beach, Playa Del Rey in the morning and then enjoy a BBQ togeher in Del Rey Lagoon Park across the street. This event may be cancelled in the case of heavy rain.

10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 15
Where to Meet:
Playa Del Rey, Toes Beach. Meet in the
parking lot at the
corner of Pacific
Ave. & 62nd St. Parking is $1/hr. in this lot.
Free street parking available for those who
arrive early. Picnic/BBQ to follow at Del Rey Lagoon Park opposite the beach.

Other Details:
Please wear comfortable
clothes that you don’t mind getting wet or a little sandy.
Dress warmly and in layers—long pants that can be rolled up, or shorts for hot weather, are recommended. It's a good idea to bring an extra pair
of pants; a T-shirt, sweater, or your favorite Mac sweatshirt; closed-toed shoes
that can get wet or sandy like water shoes or an old pair of sneakers; and sun protection including a hat,
sunglasses and sunscreen. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old or accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Invite your friends and family to join us.
Please bring a donation of approximately $5 per person in your group to cover cost of food for the BBQ, or bring your favorite potluck
item. Please let Jerry know the dish you plan to bring.
