Spanish, Religion & Elementary Education
Spanish with Mr. Cavazos, religion with Dr. Brown, my classes in elementary education, Spanish Club, Tartan Troupers all hold special memories.

Bunny, bunny, bunny...
Our medical technology 'Immunology' class used rabbits to 'plant' and 'harvest' antibodies, which somehow we enjoyed! (We had to kill the rabbits) Mary Sveen's sister made her a decorated rabbit smock to wear in this class.

Working on the yearbook
I worked on four yearbooks at Mac, writing copy and taking pictures. My English major, under Prof. Ward and the skillful guidance of Prof. Burg certainly were huge factors in my future 12-year as a newspaper reporter/photographer and photo-editor. Art, under Mr. Caponi, added invaluable insight in picture composition and page layout. I am very proud of the 1955 yearbook Beverly Lee and I edited. There are some great pictures by Prof. Burg in there, too.

Teaching to teach
Each and every teacher I had at Mac was outstanding. Who could forget Dr. Mitau with his photographic memory or Prof. Thompson? They all demonstrated teaching techniques which I am still using (for 36 years, so far) to teach 3rd and 4th grade classes. I was also a successful high school football defensive coach for 12 years from the experience of playing under Dwight Steussy. I also coached high school baseball and wrestling from the experiences I gained at Mac in those sports.
