Taking three Phy-Ed classes senior year
Because I took one Physical Education class as a freshman and dropped the second one, I spent my sophomore and junior years hoping I'd get some excuse to not take anymore. So, others who did the same and I were told by the Registar that we had to register in the second semester in 1955 as a sophomore, which we did. However, I got an excuse from Dean Dupre citing working with him and so got to register with the senior class of 1956. As a result, I had to take three Phy-Ed classes my senior year (oh, what fun). I wish I had taken more philosophy classes as I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Hills ethics class.

Dueling research papers
One semester I took two courses from Dean Dupre. He set a rigorous schedule for his classes, with a short research paper due every two weeks – for me it was a paper every week. My system was to do the research and prepare an outline, then get up at 4 or 5 a.m. on the morning the paper was due and type away on my little portable typewriter, barely making the 10 am class. How he did it with all his other work I will never know, but our papers were always returned by the next class, graded, commented upon, and spelling corrected. He always had time to meet with me in his office and even today he remains one of my idols.
