Those musical "highs"
Professor Ian Morton and the numerous musical "highs" we experienced preparing the great choral works.

Singing with the Minneapolis Symphony
I have fond memories of singing in the Mac choir. Especially vivid were the times we sang with the Minneapolis Symphony, Beethoven’s Ninth and another time, Daphnis et Chloe. Great experiences.

After-lunch rehearsals in the nursery
I have wonderful memories of after-lunch chorus rehearsals in the Blue Door Nursery. The risers had to be put up after the children left from Kindergarten. Dr. Ian Morton then began the rehearsal. Also, the all-night rehearsals for Daphnis et Chloe when we made the recording with Antal Dorati conducting the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. The next morning we had breakfast with Dr. Turck at his home on the Mac campus… I also remember, the early morning breakfasts before we left on the streetcar for St. Paul or Minneapolis for student teaching. The winters were dark and cold.

Cutting my first record with the Minneapolis Symphony
Singing in the Mac choir under Ian Morton and performing Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, with the Minneapolis Symphony directed by Antol Dorati. Actually cutting a record was a pretty big high.
