In Memory 1903 – 1989 Reflections from her niece, Mary Sandberg Wagner.  Rose Becker Sandberg. Photo taken during her last year of teaching. Rose went to Macalester to finish a four-year degree. Before that she had graduated with a 2-year degree from Winona State and taught for many years. She taught at Somerset Elementary in Mendota Heights, Minn., for most of her career, retiring in 1971. Rose was married, but had no children. They lived on the West Side of St. Paul for many years. After retirement, she was active in her church and sang in the choir. She died in 1989 at the age of 86.
