My ‘Remember When’ stories:
· Moving to a smaller room
After I left Macalester College, I went to Union Theological Seminary in New York City. I graduated in 1961 with a master's in Divinity. I then attended Columbia's Teachers' College and, along with Union Seminary, obtained a master's in Religious Education in 1962.
I went to Vermont where I served two churches, one in Derby and the other in Morgan. I was married to Laraine Holmes of Woodhaven, Queens, New York City, in August of 1962. I am still married to Laraine and we have four children and six grandchildren.
From 1968-1972, I worked on a national denomination pilot project serving four dying churches in Wilder, Quechee, Hartford and West Hartford, Vermont. When I left the project we had merged the four churches into two churches with two full-time ministers. I then moved to Oakville, Conn., where I served as a full-time minister to one congregation. I retired after 29 years of service in 2001. I then became the minister of music for the Terryville Congregational Church from 2001-2007. I am now employed as the director of Christian education at the Bunker Hill Congregational Church in Waterbury, Conn.
