Read Brief Bios

Following graduation, I was employed by J.C. Penney in their management program. I joined the Minnesota National Guard with specialty training as a medic at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Married Emily Hildebrandt (Gustavus ’58) and we had two children, Eric and Beth. Eric died of leukemia at age 10 in 1972. 

I started my own business and was president of Delarned's, Inc., in 1961, the business sold in February 2007. I was also owner and president of Minnesota Beauty College in the ’70s, sold in the ’80s.

Volunteer activities include being a member of North Suburban Lions and Roseville Jaycees; chairman of 916 Vo. Tech. Cosmetology Dept.; president of Minnesota State Cosmetology Assoc.; and on the Board of Deacons for Como Park Lutheran Church. I enjoy golf, cross country skiing, biking, bridge and travel.
