I have lived in Princeton, Edinburgh, Duluth, Paris, London and Leicester, England. Was ordained, was a campus minister, assistant minister, arts secretary, and, for 30 years, a University (art) adult educator. I have, with two colleagues, been instrumental in creating, building and running the Richard Attenborough Centre for Disability and the Arts at Leicester University. Persistently, I have been a painter — part of the package in all my jobs — exhibiting but waiting for posthumous fame. I have had one wife, no children, two nationalities and a profound Czech connection via Prague friends since 1964. To have gone to places which fascinate, found fine friends and worked at jobs which suited me gives me a little more optimism than is sensible in the world as it is.
