Two trips to two river valleys
During my time at Mac I participated in two field trips. The first was a historical geology trip to the Taylors Falls area. Professor Wykes led the day trip, explaining the geologic formations of the St. Croix River valley. The other trip was Hildegard Johnson's conservation field trip to southeast Minnesota. There, we learned about contour farming and the nature of the Mississippi River valley. These events stand out in my mind and it shows the importance of a "hands on” learning experience.
