Since 1995 I have been counseling Silicon Valley corporations of various sizes on the tax, labor and securities laws affecting their executive compensation arrangements (I love the SEC and IRS!). Even wrote a bill and successfully lobbied for its passage into law in California. Also went through a layoff with the dotcom bursting, so it's not all been roses either. I have a 12-year-old daughter in Texas whom I'll be bringing along to some of the reunion (a future Macite undoubtedly if her mother and I can afford tuition, uff da!). Earlier this year Scott Habermehl and I spent a week on Kauai with our families (pix at flickr.com). He sends greetings as does John Wiley who lives about 10 miles from me now. As the current pic shows — I have been skydiving (couple years ago). Someday maybe I'll do it again to see if I really liked it. ;-)

Several years ago (yeah, that's right, that's the ticket) I started working on getting back to my college weight in time for this reunion through natural hair loss from my head. I largely succeeded, but in the end I had to do some bicycling as well. ;-)

My Mac Memories:

  • Staying up for the sunrise over Doty and having an owl silently fly a couple feet over my head.
  • Having a WMCN radio show (TJ the DJ, the Electric Eclectic "if you're enjoying what you're hearing, or would like to hear what you enjoy....").
  • Fall Break Wake.
  • Al Franken doing a routine at SAGA.
  • Cursing Reagan's victory on election night, but attending his inauguration as part of an Interim in D.C.
  • Carting around campus the giant screen for Mac Video.
  • J-Council deliberations on student elections.
  • Sunning on the Doty deck.
  • Dancing to all those great bands in the Union.
  • Living in 195, 215, and 219 Macalester St. (all since razed or moved when the athletic fields were expanded).
  • Ice cream at Hoissers.
  • Bicycling over to Hiawatha Falls and then around the Minneapolis lakes.

I'm sure there'll be more when I'm on campus again.
