Married Life at Mac
Jim and Sue Weeldreyer (Haupt)

Sue and Jim had their first date at Mac in November of 1958 and soon decided to get married in September of 1959. They came back in the fall from their wedding in New York City, lived in an apartment on Grand Ave., and continued on at Mac, Sue in philosophy and Jim in education. They took many classes together, fitted in basketball, and marital bliss. We recall many movies at the St. Clair and carrying home our first Christmas tree from near there, cold walks, Twins baseball games, memorable convos, House of Hope, a friend that allowed us to use his car when we were dating, and lots of great people.

True Love
Barbara S. Reagan Sphar

I remember meeting my true love, Gary Sphar, and spending 35 years together.

Riverbanking
Roger Lillemoen

"Riverbanking" was memorable. I met Ellen while doing this activity. Back in those days, there was not much for roads or even hiking trails down to the river. I think I took the muffler out of my '54 Mercury.

Meeting Nancy
Bill Henderson

I met my wife Nancy at Macalester after picketing a movie theater in protest of the chain's discrimination in the south.

Scottish Love
Jon Roeder

I remember being the drum major in the pipe band where I met piper Delores Kinney who became my wife.

Love Since Freshman Year
Ginny Raymond Sall

The spring of my freshman year I met Andy, and we were married the following spring. I graduated from Macalester and taught elementary school for three years.
