Alumni will be hosting specialty shows on WMCN throughout the big weekend. Their programs will be webstreamed live and available via and Macalester's new mobile site

Friday, June 6

    "ULWAGH! ULWAGH! ULWAGH!" with David "Uncle Mel" Elvin ’84, WMCN General Manager, Spring 1984, and Scott "Mr. Bisch" Burchill ’85, WMCN General Manager, 1984-’85
  • 12-1 p.m.
    "From Minnesota to New Jersey and Everywhere in Between" with Nick Kahn ’09
    A reflection of past shows I have done while at WMCN, a mix of alternative music and timeless classics from Michigan, New York, and New Jersey with a smattering of Chilean songs thrown in.
  • 1-2 p.m.
    "Haphazard: Tribute" with Miranda McElligott ’04
    A tribute to the children of the Top Gun era.
  • 2-3 p.m.
    "I'm George W. Bush and I Approve this Radio Show" with Jake Levy-Pollans ’09, Franz Meyer ’09, & Will Howell ’08
    Back for it's 5th year (with just a short break), Jake, Franz, and Will offer witty commentary, perspective, and rants covering current events, on campus, around the state, across the country, and all over the globe.

    "Heavy Metal Headache" with Alex Stone ’89 and Bill Bettridge ’89
    Heavy Metal (not hair metal!) from the 1980s, plus a few updated songs here and there.
  • 4-6 p.m.
    "Kagin Day Dreams" with Chad Kampe ’04, Erin Rupp ’04, Peter Crandall ’04
    Step through a portal and be transported to 2000. Chad, Erin and Peter will bring you back to Flip Phone era.

    "Spoon Music" with Renee Schaefer ’04
    The best new and old music in darkwave, industrial, metal, dark electronic-rock, synthpop and other related genres.

    "Music for Moderns" with Jeff Conrod ’92
    Music for Moderns is back! Don't remember it? How about REV-105? Or KJ-104? The memories will come flooding back as you hear late 80s and early 90s "alternative" classics by favorites like Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, the Smiths, REM, Pearl Jam, and more.

    "There and Back Again: Local Music Over the Past 40 Years" with Paul D. Williams ’87
    A musical journey over the past 40 years of local music, featuring some rare recordings as well as recordings from Mac students who went on to make it big.
