Adell Buche-Mayer '60

I retired in 2003 after 22 1/2 years as social
worker/bereavement counselor and volunteer coordinator for The Hospice of
the Florida Suncoast. Before that, I started a new truancy program for a
school district in Massachussets and worked three years for Ramsey and
Hennepin County Welfare with their programs for the mentally challenged.
Richard and I have two daughters—Melissa, who is a computer engineer, has
two daughters and lives with her husband in Phoenix and Stephanie, who is a
classical musician teaching and directing the Washington Civic Opera Chorus, has one baby girl and lives with her husband in Maryland.
I will be unable to attend the reunion because Stephanie and her husband
are taking a jazz band from the private school she teaches at to China in
June. We will care for the baby, two dogs, three large birds and a fish
tank full of fish plus our own 9-month-old puppy.
Richard is a management consultant and works with organizations to improve
their effectiveness, both systems and personnel. Our specialty is the design
of surveys and providing feedback and consultation. Our clients include
all types of organizations but in the last several years most of our
clients are in healthcare.
Each summer we take a two month trip, and this year after our babysitting
stint, we will head north, up the east coast. No one ever told me
retirement would be this much fun. Hope to see you in 2010.

I retired in March 2004 and returned to my hometown (Red Wing, Minn.) after living on the East Coast for 26 years. I enjoy having the time to visit family, volunteer in the community and relax a bit.
I look forward to attending my first Mac reunion. I entered with the Class of '61 and graduated with the Class of '62 so hope to see many friends from my past.
