Elise Glenn Fleming '61
alysk@ix.netcom.com
I retired in June from public school teaching and am doing
substitute teaching, primarily in foreign language. I still continue
to be active in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a type of living history
group. I dabble in cake decorating and sugar paste—the Renaissance
version of gum paste (photos are on my website:
http://home.netcom/~alysk/). Lately, I've been traveling—a trip to
England; another one coming up; SCA business in Las Vegas; teaching sugar
paste at a Colorado conference; and, finally, a trip to Texas when the
first grandchild is born.
My Mac Memories: Theatre and Drama Chorus and all the profs involved. Sewing up
the waistband of a costume for "Tiger at the Gates" and being so
embarrassed that I never touched a sewing machine again for nearly 20
years. And, the occasional stint serving coffee in the cafeteria line in
the morning, being excessively cheery to all the bleary-eyed customers.
Compared to the high school seniors I have taught, we were so innocent back
then.

Susan has served as a missionary in Japan for the last 14 years through the United Church of Christ. She is now volunteering at Asian Rural Institute in Japan (www.ari-edu.org) until 2006. "Come and join me," she wrote.
Dennis Ryan '61
& Sharon (Bouley) Ryan '61
sherna@centurytel.net
Dennis and Sharon planned a medical mission in March (2005) to Peru to do cross-eye surgery. Dennis recently cut back from full time to two days per week, after over 30 years in the ophthalmology department at the Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center. He plans to retire completely at the end of 2005.
