Planning to attend

I can't wait for the reunion and I hope we have a great turnout. Please sign up today and come to campus for the great programs that start Friday, June 2 this year!

My family and I live in Eagan, Minnesota, way outside the one-mile club, 10 miles from Mac. Lisa and I have been married for 21 years and our first son is off to college next year. We also have a daughter who's a freshman in high school and a seventh grade son.

My business is called Marathon Partners (see website), a hybrid private equity firm. I've been in this space for about ten years and spent the previous decade in commercial real estate.

This fall I ran in a cross-country race sponsored by Chris Fuller '81, and it was named for Paul Mausling '81. The highlight was finishing close enough to Paul that I could still see him when he crossed the finish line! (It was Paul's second race of the day, an my first.)

I still keep in touch with a few other 1981 classmates, including Dan Thompson, Don Miller, Glenn Welch, and Tim Murray.

Since 1999, I have been working at Artspace Projects (www.artspaceusa.org), a national nonprofit real estate organization that creates affordable housing and street level "retail" space for arts groups, galleries and other creative businesses. Artspace is based in Minneapolis and works in 21 states. One of the most exciting things I'm doing now is working on a project for 65 artists and their families in El Barrio (East Harlem), NYC.

My other two loves are my 9-year-old daughter, Kira, who we adopted from China eight years ago and my partner, David Frank, an alumnus of Amherst also in the real estate business working locally on the redevelopment of the Pillsbury "A" Mill complex.

My Mac Memories: The physical place—which I see every week when my daughter goes to Chinese classes in Janet Wallace, the professors, my friends, the stacks of the old library, bad meals in Kagin and great conversations with so many people connected to Mac.
