I have been a professional fundraiser and non-profit
administrator for the last umpteen years—mostly working for the Girl
Scouts in the Philadelphia area. Was divorced two years ago, regrouped,
and am now living with a wonderful guy named Nick (who says he wished he
went to Mac), and his two wonderful children, Tim, 13 and Kristen, 10 in
Pennington, N.J.. Despite the daily challenges of juggling our busy lives in
Modern America, it's true bliss. Who knew our 40s could be so fabulous?
My Mac Memories: Great art faculty; watching soaps in Wallace chez Anne
and Lucinda after lunch; Paul Smyke's RA meetings at Bigelow; Sherry's
all-nighters in Dupre; Susan's petrified Cap'n Crunch on the windowsill;
O'Gara's; Oreos, beer and Rockford Files with Hal; chasing vermin with
Hillary and Dan. Wish I could be there for the reunion fun!

Andy (Mitchell '85) and I still live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Andy
is a network engineer and we have a little coffee house, First Avenue
Espresso. Stop by if you're ever in Cedar Rapids!
Our kids are growing up fast. Our oldest daughter, Georgia, just graduated
from high school and is off to Drake University in the fall. Our other two
kids are still in high school—Tyler will be a junior and Lauren, will be a
freshman.
My Mac Memories: All of my anthropology classes; drinking strawberry margaritas
with Andy at Estaban's; getting lost in the tunnels; almost missing SAGA
because we were watching All my Children in Kelly and Susie's room; the
massive snowball fight when we all got stranded during the Thanksgiving
blizzard; building the shanties to protest apartheid; walking to O'Gara's
for beers and fries; pogo-ing to the Suburbs; WMCN (10 watts of power!) and
rocking out with Lynx!

I live in central Alabama, about 30 minutes south of Birmingham,
with my wife Carmen and our 6-year-old son Philip. I teach Spanish at The
University of Montevallo, which is Alabama’s public liberal arts college.
Life is good and, as I work with undergraduates nearly every day, I think
of Macalester often. I will not be attending the reunion, but I send best
wishes to all my old Macalester friends and acquaintances.
My Mac Memories: I have so many special Macalester memories. A few standouts are
playing in the band “Radio Free Lunch,” staying up all night every
Thursday-Friday putting the Mac Weekly together; travelling to Big Bend
National Park, Belize and Mexico, and doing shows on WMCN.

I live in Rochester, Minn. My wife works at the Mayo Clinic
and I write for magazines and help watch over our daughter Parker, who is a
year and a half. I just finished writing a book and I can't fully remember
what it says. I am 41 and need to soak my back in the morning before I can
so much as prepare the baby's oatmeal. But I know that I am terrifically
blessed.
My Mac Memories: A quiet and lovely snow storm descending on the campus before
Thanksgiving break in my freshman year. Feeling smarter than I was. Movies
on campus and seeing the Replacements play in the student Union to about
five people.
