Planning to attend
I recently expanded my academic mentorship company to include six fabulous women who teach math, science and foreign language and finally got my website — www.calliope.ws — up and running! I took my students to the Peruvian Amazon last summer where we lived with the Yagua Indians in a small village upriver from Iquitos. The girls conducted ethnographic interviews while I did my own research into shamanism and plant medicine.
I just adopted Joe, a six-pound “cherryoodle” (chihuahua-terrier-poodle), from the San Francisco SPCA. He is an angel! (I think he may be gay.)
I have been in touch with Emily Whiting ’91 and Tasha Wilson ’92, who are both even more brilliant than they were at Mac! My partner, Jude, and I both plan to attend the reunion.
My Mac Memories: Karen Warren's articulation of eco-feminism;
Juanita Garciagodoy's radiant compassion; and Beverly White's yoga class (when she was 70 years old!).
