Village Life along the Dalmatian Coast

  • Seven-night, round trip cruise from Venice, Italy, aboard the comfortable, intimate M.Y. Monet, with port calls at Pula, Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik, Mljet, Korcula and Zadar, Croatia.
  • Welcome champagne toast hosted by the Captain.
  • Meals each day—buffet breakfast, buffet lunch, afternoon tea, full-service dinner and late-night snack—featuring Dalmatian and Italian cuisine with traditional dishes and local seafood.
  • Coffee and tea served throughout the day.

All tours and excursions listed in the itinerary, led by experienced local guides:

  • Half-day walking tour of Venice, with visits to the Doges’ Palace and Basilica di San Marco.
  • Walking tour of Pula, featuring the Arena.
  • Tour of Split, featuring Diocletian’s Palace.
  • Visits to Hvar’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral and Franciscan Monastery.
  • Dubrovnik walking tour including the Rector’s
  • Palace, the Franciscan Monastery, the old city walls and the Maritime Museum.
  • Scenic cruise to Mljet National Park and walking tour.
  • Walking tour of Korcula, including visits to the Abbey Treasury, the Cathedral of St. Mark and an opportunity to view the birthplace of Marco Polo.
  • Zadar excursion, featuring a visit to the Church of St. Donatus and the Cloister Museum.

Plus a full program of educational and cultural enrichments including:

  • Specially arranged VILLAGE FORUM with local residents to discuss life along the Dalmatian Coast.
  • Presentation by John Millerchip, a former UNESCO conservation expert, on tourist management in Venice, the consequences of falling population and the efforts to preserve the city from rising lagoon waters.
  • Lecture by Igor Kolcelj on the history and politics of modern Croatia.
  • Lecture presentation by Vjekoslav Vierda, Director of the Institute for the Reconstruction of Dubrovnik.
  • Specially arranged wine tasting at a vineyard near Korcula.
  • In Zadar, a specially arranged talk by a local nun on the role of religion in Croatia.

And to enhance your travel experience, we will also provide:

  • All transfers and luggage handling abroad for all participants who have purchased their air tickets through Gohagan & Company and whose arrival(s)/departure(s) coincide with the scheduled group transfer(s).
