Macalester Hosts
Dr. John B. Davis, Jr. served as the 13th president of Macalester College from 1975 to 1984. He led the college out of a $2 million deficit into a state of ongoing financial stability. He is remembered for his spirit of inclusion and optimism. Under his leadership, the college strengthened its academic standards and reputation in the community. He served as president of the Minnesota Private College Council from 1979 to 1981 and has served on the boards of Cowles Media Co., the Federal Reserve Bank, Walker Art Center and Northwestern National Life Company. He and his wife, Joy Lee, will host Macalester alumni and friends for their tour of Northern Africa.
