Natural & Cultural
Treasures of Mongolia
August 5-17, 2006

See where your dreams can take you . . .

Mongolia beckons with a rare glimpse into an ancient culture and the last unspoiled wilderness in Asia. Discovering this land of nomadic horsemen and traditions dating to the time of Chingis Khan is as much a journey back in time as an expedition of exploration.

Relatively unchanged for centuries, Mongolia has one of the last remaining horse-based, nomadic cultures in the world. Through spontaneous encounters with nomadic families, you will experience the tradition of warm hospitality offered to passing travelers in the form of food, shelter and friendship. Long after you return home, you will recall the hearty welcomes, warm smiles and generosity that are invariably offered by nomads in their traditional gers (felt tents).

"This is a unique moment to visit Mongolia. It will not be the easiest trip you have made and it is doubtful you will find a single international franchise to remind you of home. But this will easily be the most memorable trip that you will make, and you will have a wealth of images and experiences to ponder and enjoy for the rest of your life."
