Minnesota Center for Victims of Torture The Center for Victims of Torture works to help torture survivors “regain control” and “heal physically, mentally, and emotionally.” The team of care providers includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and massage and physical therapists. CVT also holds support groups, including one for Bosnian children. For an article on that group, see Storycloth a publication of CVT.
Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota Lutheran Social Services has been responsible for receiving and
resettling many of the Bosnian refugees in the Twin Cities. Today,
as Bosnians are no longer coming here directly from Bosnia, LSS
has a self-sufficiency and employment specialist. Catholic
Charities of St. Paul & Minneapolis Hennepin
County Office of Multi-Cultural Services Hennepin County Office of Multi-Cultural Services Tatjana Tuzlukovic helps Bosnian immigrants navigate the Hennepin County system. Services include everything from help with job applications and medical assistance, to housing and car repair. Bosnian Women’s Network The Bosnian Women’s Network deals especially with family issues involving women, children, and teenagers. The Network also has English, citizenship, and computer classes. Men are welcome. Center that provides educational, cultural, social, athletic, civil and charitable activities to the Muslim community in Minnesota. |
