The Cambodian refugee population in the United States has reached 171,937 according to the 2000 Census. Minnesota has the sixth largest population of Cambodian refugees (5,530) in the United States. Of metropolitan areas in the U.S., the Twin Cities host the eleventh largest population of Cambodian refugees (4,149). For this reason, it is important to understand the history, culture and specific needs of the Cambodian community in Minnesota. This website provides some basic facts about the Cambodian population and additional resources to further assist those who wish to learn about and take an active role in Cambodian refugee issues.
