Heba Amin, '02 had work in Latitudes, an exhibition of art by the recipients of Mizna's first ever granting program. The program was designed to facilitate and support original artistic work created by community members who identify as Arab, Muslim, Berber, or Iranian. She has worked at VAGA, an artists' copyright protection agency in New York. She assisted artist Mark Dion in research for his "Field Guide to the Wildlife of Madison Square Park" a 2002 Public Art Fund Project. He made Iggy, a 40 foot long Iguana sculpture from 12,500 welded railroad spikes. It is owned by the Science Museum of Minnesota and can be seen at the riverfront entrance to the museum. Rachel Fine, '77 is a graphic designer, trainer and teacher. In 2000 she received an MA in Human Development from St. Mary's University. Gartman founded Lunalux, a printmaking and design studio on Loring Park in Minneapolis. His stylish and innovative use of antique blocks and printing equipment place him in the forefront of the Letterpress Revival movement. His family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Macalester College Art Department. Beryl J. Wright, '70 (New Haven, CT), d. 2000,
earned a PhD in Art History from Yale. She was best known for curating
"Against the Odds: African- American Artists and the Harmon Foundation"
a ground-breaking exhibition about the arts of the Harlem Renaissance.
