Fulbright Awards
Christine Park '08 is graduating with a Psychology major and has received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in South Korea this fall. Cris Ramon, who graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a major in Sociology, has won a Fulbright Full grant to Spain. English Teaching Assistantships (ETA) are offered in many countries worldwide. Each ETA Program is designed by the host country.

Chris Wedes '49 honored for his TV character, J.P. Patches

Minneapolis-native Chris Wedes '49 will be honored in Seattle when a statue depicting his famous children's TV show character, J.P. Patches, is unveiled on August 17. Gertrude, one of the 18 characters played by Bob Newman for the program, will also be depicted in the statue. As the first live telecast on Seattle's KIRO-TV in February 1958, the J.P. Patches show ran for 23 years, becoming the longest-running locally produced children's program in the United States.
