Why I am a MB leader:
Because I really love ice-breakers, getting-to-know-you games, and awkward introductions. I guess I also like hiking sometimes.
Advice to a first year student:
Be curious, ask questions, go to TA hours, get a bike, live in Dupre, use public transit, and know the Cities. You can be a leader, sure, but finding someone who's got a good idea, joining forces with them, and supporting them is equally as important.
Favorite thing about Mac:
There's always someone doing something they're passionate about. And if you wake up one morning and you are passionate about something, you can find someone else who's passionate about that same thing. And they're probably doing something about it.
Involvements at Mac/twin cities:
Sustainable Purchasing Officer in Business Services, Member of the Student Sustainability Network, Co-leader of MULCH (Mac's urban garden), Co-leader of Food Roots (food justice org), HIV/AIDS Community Educator (Minnesota AIDS Project), various outdoor education volunteer positions.
