International Students Job Search: Summary of Visa Regulations
While most international students generally hold either F-1 (student) or J-1 (exchange visitor) visas while studying in the United States, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) permits students in both categories to be employed full-time by U.S. employers through the "Practical Training" program.
When seeking employment opportunities in the United States, it is important that you obtain the necessary employment authorization document(s).
