International Students Job Search: Summary of Visa Regulations
While most international students generally hold either F-1 (student) or J-1 (exchange visitor) visas while studying in the United States, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) permits students in both categories to be employed full-time by U.S. employers through the "Practical Training" program.
When seeking employment opportunities in the United States, it is important that you obtain the necessary employment authorization document(s).
It is important to remember that obtaining the necessary authorization to work in the U.S. after graduation is subject to a variety of factors. Attend to all requirements and make sure you submit all application materials on time!
