I am an Economics and Spanish double major at Macalester, and intend to pursue a career in financial services prior to attending business school. My first-hand experience of your company's customer service, its reputation in the banking industry and its dedication to its local communities are all reasons why I consider Wells Fargo an exciting prospective employer. My background in economics, varied work experience, and leadership positions have given me the academic background, dedication and organizational skills foundational to leadership development. My investment internship with Merrill Lynch Private Client Group in St. Paul, Minnesota provided valuable exposure to the discipline and challenge of wealth management and client services. I honed my research and analytical skills by generating financial reports for quarterly client reviews, and researched equities using Merrill Lynch software. By shadowing financial consultants, I developed an understanding of client concerns, a skill that has been strengthened by my retail management internship with Walgreen Company. As co-chair of the college's oldest and only community service organization, and as a Resident Assistant, I demonstrated my ability to lead as well as to collaborate with others. My efforts in Maction included collaborating with the management of a local retirement facility to start an on-going student visitor's program. In addition, I networked with academic departments and student groups to organize a silent auction that raised $2,000 for homeless children in Brazil. As a individual who enjoys opportunities to lead and to serve my community, Wells Fargo's Leadership Development Program is one of my first choices for post-graduate employment.
