Note: After the education section, the order of the following sections can be varied, depending on what you want to emphasize or highlight.
Experience
Position title, employer, city, state, dates of employment. Concise description of activities using past tense language. Include full-time and summer, paid and unpaid work experience, internships, and relevant experiences. Arrange your experience under a heading or headings that make sense to you and that help to focus your resume. One general heading “Experience” will suffice, but if you separate it into “Related Experience” and “Other Experience”, for example, that will help focus your resume towards a particular branch of work. Volunteer experience may be incorporated into your general experience section or listed separately under a heading such as “Community Service Experience.“
Skills
Demonstrated evidence of specific skills. For example:
Computers: Microsoft word, Excel, PageMill, Netscape Composer

Activities (“Leadership” is another frequently used title for this section)
Include activities (e.g., student organizations, volunteer activities, professional associations, etc.) that indicate skills or qualities of interest to the employer.
Honors
Positions or honors for which you were selected (e.g., scholarships & awards).
Additional Resume Content Categories (Optional)
Publications and Presentations
List any published materials that you have written or co-authored or professional presentations or training you may have conducted. Include your name, names of any co-authors, title, publisher, city or magazine it was published in, and the date published.
Professional Organizations
Include professional organizations to which you belong. Include both membership and any offices held in the organizations.
Community Service or Community Involvement
These activities may be included in your resume to show that you are well rounded and/or demonstrate skills. For those with 3+ years of full time work experience after graduation, college activities are replaced with either community involvement and/or volunteerism.
Interests
Interests that are most relevant on a resume are those which are unique to the position or to you as an individual. They often serve as ice breakers for discussion in the interview
