Choosing a Grad School: Academic Departments The following section contains information about graduate school that is specific to the various departments at Macalester College. Information was initially obtained through interviews with a faculty representative from each department in 1993. This information was updated through requests to each department for the second and third printing of the Graduate School Manual in 1997 and 2000. The information offers the perspective of particular faculty member(s), however, and may not be representative of the opinions of all members of the department. Students are encouraged to talk to other faculty in the department to obtain additional perspectives on graduate programs in that discipline.
