Lilly Summer Discernment Institute (LSDI)
Students have an opportunity to participate in a summer program devoted to help them discern a calling in their lives.
This program allows undergraduates the space, time, and funds to explore a calling in their lives – either to ordained ministry or to the broader field of service to a community.
The students gather together before the internship to create a positive framework for them to relate to their upcoming experience as an exploration of a calling. Their internship experience is followed up with the group gathering once more together to reflect, process, and share their experiences.
The students are given a $2400 stipend plus some travel grants for internships. They can do internships anyplace in the country but the reflection is at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.
The deadline for the summer 2009 LSDI applications is February 16, 2009.
